Orange Serum Agar is used for the cultivation of aciduric microorganisms, particularly those associated with the spoilage of citrus products. The low pH of fruit juices makes citrus fruit products susceptible to spoilage by yeasts, molds, Lactobacillus and Leuconostoc.
