These filters can also be used as a prefilter with Bottletop Filter Units, placing this glass fiber filter on top of the filter unit's membrane. (Note, these Glass Fiber Filters are packaged non-sterile.)  

For sterile applications, prefilters will need to sterilized by autoclaving prior to use. Prefilters should be sterilized in an autoclavable Self-Seal Pouch with sterilization indicator, such as our Catalog #P-SS1.)
