This unit is used to Air Dry electrophoresis gels at room temperature, and consist of one rectangular piece of acrylic and one matching piece with a 2cm frame. Outside dimensions on both pieces are the same. The standard procedure involves sandwiching a gel between two sheets of cellophane which is then framed with the two components of the unit and secured with the provided Epoxy Coated Clips. All unit dimensions are construed to be used with slightly smaller gels dimensions. Best results are with 1.5mm thickness or less.
