Autoradiography or Chemiluminescence

  • Double emulsion, very low background, light blue tinted based film
  • Produces sharp and clear, publishable auto-radiographs without graininess and background fogging associated with clear-based films; For manual or automatic development with sharp, clear resolution
  • This film can be used with all types of labeled samples with excellent signal, even with low levels of radioactivity

Especially suited for exposure of protein experiments and DNA sequencing gels, this film is routinely used for Western Blotting, Sequencing, Chemiluminescent Autoradiography (ecl), and Gel Shift Analysis.

The method and length of exposure depends on the type and the amount of radio-isotope used in the sample. For instance, samples labeled with high energy, Beta-particle-emitting isotopes such as 14C, 125I , 32P , 35S may be exposed directly or with intensifying screens. Normal developing temperature is 90-95 degrees F (35°C). Processing is rapid (manual or automatic), complete in approximately 90 seconds (varies/test). This film is for use with calcium tungstate and blue emitting rare earth screens.  This low background, high contrast formula produces a lighter blue film, making it ideal for all autoradiographic and electrophoretic applications. In addition to BluLite’s excellent sensitivity and contrast characteristics, it is also coated on both sides (double emulsion) for improved consistency and overall performance.

This film reliably produces sharp images which allow for maximum DNA visualization with unsurpassed clarity. Compatible with automatic processors and manual development methods, Blu-Lite compares directly with films costing 3-5 times as much. With a shelf life of 2 years from date of production, Blu-Lite UHC is packaged in lined, light-safe dispenser boxes that include an improved “lift off” cover. Film is packaged 100 sheets per box.

Store in dry and cool environment. Keep away from any other form of radiation.
