• Made to last, our units are constructed of heavy- duty thick acrylic with pure platinum wire electrodes welded into the frame to minimize wire breakage, maintain even current, and ensure safety.

• Reduces gel smiling by placing one complete side of the gel plate in complete contact with the upper buffer chamber for an even cooling effect.

• A permanent, reliable leak-proof seal is maintained with the durable silicone sponge cord gasket set snugly in a groove.

• Thick glass plates won't crack easily.

• Choose either a standard or custom comb (see standard or page custom).

• Casting unit is available for pouring 10 gels at once (see casting stand).

• Protection from accidental tipping or contact with buffers with our safety lids (see safety lids).

Our unique sealing system is quick and simple to use. Simply wrap our flexible seal tubing around the attached spacers and secure with binder clips. (Spacers can be supplied unattached, if preferred.)

To run, clip the polymerized gel sandwich to our main structural frame. This creates an enclosed upper buffer chamber with its electrodes and anchors the gel onto the same sturdy frame. Set this unit into the lower buffer box, load the samples, connect the leads and apply power. Typical run time for 12% gradient gels is 1 hr. at 10 watt power input.

Complete unit includes: main frame and lower buffer chamber, 1 set of glass plates (1 notched and 1 square with .75 mm PVC spacers attached), 1 seal tubing, 2 combs (.75 mm PTFE© 6 & 12 well), power supply leads, and 4 clips. (Dual-sided model includes 2 glass plate sets, 4 combs, and 8 clips).
