Omega Biotek E.Z.N.A.® Forensic DNA Kit is designed to provide a rapid and easy method for the isolation of genomic DNA from forensic samples such as dry blood, buccal swabs, and semen samples for consistent PCR and Southern analysis. This kit can also be used for the preparation of genomic DNA from mouse tail snips, whole blood, buffy coat, serum, and plasma. This kit can process single or multiple samples simultaneously. There is no need for phenol/chloroform extractions and time-consuming steps such as precipitation with isopropanol or ethanol are eliminated. DNA purified using the E.Z.N.A.® Forensic DNA Kit is ready for applications such as PCR*, Southern blotting, and restriction enzyme digestion. Collection paper not included.

Amplification of genomic DNA isolated from dried blood samples using the E.Z.N.A.® Forensic DNA Kit. Punches were taken from blood samples stored on OBI Specimen Collection paper for 1 year. A total of 5 µL of each eluate was amplificated with a PCR mastermix and β-actin primers (819 bp) to determine whether inhibitors were present in the eluted DNA. Each lane contains 0% of PCR product sparated on a 1% agarose gel.
