Omega Biotek E.Z.N.A.® SQ Tissue DNA Kit provides a reliable method for the isolation of high molecular weight genomic DNA from various types of fresh or frozen tissue samples. This Solution Based System can process single or multiple samples simultaneously in less than 90 minutes. Samples are lysed with our WTL Buffer/Protease and cellular proteins are removed by precipitation. High molecular genomic DNA remains in solution and is purified by isopropanol precipitation. DNA purified using the E.Z.N.A.® SQ Tissue DNA Kit is free of contaminants and enzyme inhibitors making it suitable for downstream applications such as PCR, Southern blotting and restriction enzyme digestion.

These 'Salt Precipitation' protocols use a non-toxic method for isolating high molecular weight genomic DNA from fresh, frozen, and fixed human or animal tissue, mouse tail, and cultured cell samples (up to 450mg, from 300mg human or animal solid tissue or 20-200mg from 15mm/15-30mg mouse tail). Samples are first lysed with our WBL buffer. Cellular proteins are removed by precipitation and high molecular weight genomic DNA will remain in solution. High quality genomic DNA is then purified by isopropanol precipitation.

This Omega Biotek kit is designed for the rapid and efficient purification of genomic DNA, viral DNA, and total cellular DNA (including viral DNA) from bacteria, yeast, animal or plant cells, and tissues. Resulting purified DNA is free of contamination that commonly inhibits downstream applications, such as amplification and Southern analyses. Principally, the Hi-Bind (silica-based) resin matrix and s specialized reagent selectively binds and effectively lyses the sample of interest. RNA is enzymatically degraded to prevent its co-purification with DNA. Fast, easy and reliable, the lysate is passed through the Hi-Bind spin column or plate. The DNA is specifically and reversibly adsorbed. Rapid and efficient washes remove contaminating salts and proteins. The pure DNA is then eluted into low ionic strength buffer or deionized water. Most of these isolations can be performed in less than an hour.
