These sterile, durable, polystyrene L-shaped cell spreaders are an economical (disposable) alternative to bending glass rods or pipets. These L-shaped spreaders are designed with a slightly upward return to reduce potential damage to agar surfaces and to conform to Petri dishes. Spreaders are sterile and packed in easy to open (one side paper and one side plastic) Individual Wraps or in Pouches of 10. These units are perfect for spreading cells onto the surfaces of Petri dishes for culturing colonies for counting in the microbiology laboratory. These sterile, disposable spreaders eliminate the need to flame sterilize or autoclave spreaders. They eliminate the wait for a bent glass rod to cool before using.
