Optically Clear - Specifically for RT qPCR plates
ThermalSeal RTS™ Select sealing films are manufactured using an optically clear 50 μm polyolefin film (3M® 9795) with a 50µm non-tacky pressure-released inert encapsulated strong silicone adhesive until pressed against the sealing surface. This film is optically clear minimizes autofluorescence making it especially suited for real-time qPCR.  It's  pressure sensitive silicone adhesive is the strongest available sealing film to eliminate evaporation and edge effects.  Temperature range is -70° to 100úC. 

Other applications include standard PCR, storage, and protein crystallization applications.  This film is DMSO resistant for HTS (chemically inert). 

The silicone adhesive is non-tacky until pressed against the sealing surface, at which time adhesive is released only in sealing areas to form the strongest available heat-resistant seal around each well on the plate.

ThermalSeal RTS™ films are sized (die-cut) to fit within the edges of raised-rim 96-well plates, like our LS-9990-series. This film is specifcally recommended for our LS-0960-LC480 (Roche® type Lightcycler) plates.They can be used interchangeably with standard plates as well. Their consistent high optical clarity makes possible reproducible, reliable, and consistent DNA amplification measurements and crystal detection. Two end tabs assist in positioning the film on the plate, and the non-tacky adhesive surface simplifies handling. Easy removal of the end tabs at performated boundaries prevents lifting and prevents higher evaporation rates that can occure with films that overlap the plate rim.

Note, the use of a sealing paddle is recommended (see our #PDL-5).
