WL Nutrient Agar is used for cultivating yeasts, mold and bacteria encountered in brewing and industrial fermentation processes. WL (Wallerstein Laboratory) Nutrient Agar was developed by Green and Gray in their study of fermentation processes. Viable baker’s yeast counts may be completed using WL Nutrient Agar at a pH of 5.5.
